Dharo ki Dhar fort
Dharon Ki Dhar is an Old Fort situated in Solan District of Himachal Pradesh. Solan is a beautiful place and most of its places are undiscovered. Dharon Ki Dhar is a perfect place to explore for people who love mystery along with architecture.
Mohan Heritage Park is located in Ashwani Khad, on the bank of Ashwani river. This heritage park was built by Brigadier Kapil Mohan, a Padam Shri award winner. The architecture of Mohan Shakti Temple at Ashwani Khad is highly influenced from the Akshardham Temple in Delhi. To reach Ashwani khad which lies in “Hart Village” one has to detour almost 6 kms from the main highway between solan and Shimla.
Jatoi temple, the Asia’s highest temple of Lord Shiva and is one of the Oldest and religious temple of the Solan district. There is 100 stairs for the temple to reach a statue of Lord Shiva, on the right side of this there is a cave where Lord Shiva slept and 200 meter from there is a Shiv Ling placed. It is believed that in the ancient times the Lord Shiva visited this place and stayed for some time that’s why this temple was built in this place.
Located in the heart of the ‘British Summer Capital’ – Shimla, The Ridge is a hub of all cultural activities of Shimla. Prominent landmarks on the Ridge are a neo-Gothic structure of Church from 1844 and a tudorbethan styled library building built in 1910. Dolanji is an area near Solan in Himachal Pradesh famous for its Bon Monastery, constructed in 1969 and was founded by Abbot Lungog Tenpai Nyima, where one can witness the beautiful Tibetan Culture. The chief of the monastery is Menri Trizin. People participate in religious ceremonies and it is also a ritual to walk in a clockwise direction around the monastery.
Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Solan, was established on 1st December, 1985. Late Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar, the first Chief Minister and the architect of Himachal Pradesh perceived the importance of Horticulture and Forestry to develop and improve the State economy which led to the establishment of this University. The main objective was to promote education, research and extension education in the fields of Horticulture, Forestry and allied disciplines.
